Generators
What is an automatic stand by generator?
It is an appliance that resupplies electricity to your home or small business within seconds of a power outage.
Why should I buy a stand by generator instead of a portable one?
A standy by generator is safer, quieter, more reliable, hands free, and you don't need to be there for it to work.
How does it work?
It senses a power outage, starts up on its own, and resupplies your home or business with electricity within 20 seconds.
What will it power?
Any and all of your appliances, lighting fixtures, equipment or whatever you choose.
What is the difference between air cooled and liquid cooled?
(Volkswagon Bug vs. Cadillac) Air cooled engines are smaller and run hotter like your old VW bug but they run very well. Liquid cooled engines last longer and are required for larger electrical needs.
How much fuel do these generators use?
A minimum amount because it only runs when the power goes out. Other than 10 minutes per week, where it self tests to make sure it is ready for an outage.
How much does it cost to install a generator?
It all depends on the size of the generator and the proximity to your gas source and electrical service.
How do I know which size is right for my needs?
We'll size it for you based on how much electricity you want running in your home or business during a power outage.
Once my order is placed, how long does the delivery and installation
process take?
Typially, lead times are 3-5 weeks, however, we stock multiple generators for customers that have immediate needs.
What do I have to do when the power goes out to get the generator running?
Absolutely nothing! It is totally automatic. Just sit back and enjoy your TV program.
How long will the generator run for?
It will run until the power comes back on.
Where is the generator placed? Can it be put in my garage?
All generators must be installed outdoors. Almost anywhere on your property.
Should I get a service plan? What are the benefits of doing so?
Just like your car, the generator has a combustion engine that needs service throughout the year depending on the amount of outtages you have.
